Job Overview:
We are seeking a Data Engineering Contractor with strong technical expertise and a programmer’s mindset to support both legacy systems and an upcoming data lake initiative. This role requires quick onboarding, technical depth, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a variety of technologies and the ability to solve complex data and integration challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering.
• Contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables.
• Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet deliverables.
• Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering to ensure project success.

Key Technical Requirements:

• Legacy Pipeline (Immediate ramp-up): SQL, Liquibase, SSIS, TFS, AutoSys.
• New Data Lake Pipeline (Upcoming project): Hive, Dremio, Python, PySpark, Airflow, Data Lake Architecture.

Ideal Candidate Should Have:

• Strong hands-on experience in some or most of the above technologies.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Ability to read and understand compiled codebases (Java, C#); ability to write in these languages is a plus.
• A programmer’s mindset to solve complex data and integration challenges.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.

Pay Range: $50 - $60

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
