  • Serve as an Owner’s Engineer overseeing mechanical engineering work on EPU projects and other major plant upgrades.
  • Manage and review vendor and contractor deliverables , including mechanical designs, calculations, and system modifications.

  • Provide engineering oversight on plant mechanical systems including piping, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, HVAC, and other balance-of-plant equipment.
  • Collaborate with project management, station engineering, procurement, and construction to ensure successful execution of projects.
  • Coordinate engineering responses, resolve technical issues, and assess vendor submittals across all project phases—from scope development to implementation.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to ensure vendor alignment with plant configuration control, QA, and licensing requirements.
  • Participate in technical discussions, root cause evaluations, and system health assessments.
  • Ensure application of ASME codes, nuclear standards, and NRC regulations in all engineering reviews and decisions.
  • Stay current on EPU-related technologies, trends, and performance implications to support plant modernization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible commercial nuclear experience .
  • Prior experience with Extended Power Uprate (EPU) projects is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems in nuclear plants and familiarity with the applicable ASME codes, NRC regulations, and QA processes .
  • Ability to critically evaluate engineering calculations and design packages prepared by external organizations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with vendors, contractors, project teams, and plant leadership.
  • Experience in a leadership or oversight role, ideally representing plant owner interests.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License is preferred but not required.
