Job Description – Healthcare Focused Project Manager

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management strongly preferred.

  • 5+ years of practical experience in a project administration preferred.

  • Healthcare construction experience required, preferably in California with HCAI knowledge.

  • Experience in construction management preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building and client relationship building.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as an Owners Representative with direct client facing responsibilities.

  • Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.

  • Manage the design process with the client and designers.

  • Responsible for onsite quality assurance of contractor work

  • Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of the contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities.

  • Collaborate with IOR and HCAI field officials.

  • Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client.

  • Conduct project meetings and provide documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information.

  • Ensure contractor, architect, and engineer, adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment.

  • Provide management of project logistics, organization, safety, and work force utilization

  • Experience working in the occupied space of an active hospital and directly with its end users (Physicians, Staff and Facilities) is preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge and application of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required.

  • Knowledge of design requirements, architecturally significant medical equipment, and industry practices specific to the Healthcare (HCAI) sector in California is required.

  • Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite of tools is required, and knowledge of scheduling database tools such as Primavera (P6) or Procore is preferred.

  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and blueprints is required.

  • Strong collaboration, conflict resolution and team building skills are required and essential.

  • Ensure project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for final project delivery to the owner.

  • Perform other duties as required to ensure project success.

  • Ability to regularly communicate with client and team to achieve project goals.

  • Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts.

  • Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed.

  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with clients.

  • Ability to successfully communicate with architects, contractors, client’s representatives, and team members.

  • Ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to Budgeting, Scheduling, Submittals, Change orders.

  • Demonstrated high level of performance in project budgeting, contract negotiations and scheduling.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook) applications and Project software.
